How to install LUTs in CapCut

Updated · about 5 minutes

Quick answer

In CapCut desktop, open Adjustment → LUT, click Import and select the .cube files. Hover over a LUT and click + to add it as an adjustment layer, then set Intensity. The phone app cannot import LUTs.

Works with
CapCut for Mac and Windows. The CapCut phone app and web editor cannot import custom LUTs at the time of writing.
Which files
Cinematic bundle: the .cube files in each look's Luts Cube folder, for example DRONE BUNDLE/OCEAN/Luts Cube. GoPro pack: the .cube files in LUTs by drone-luts.com (CUBE). Both packs also include .3dl files, which CapCut reads too.

Import the LUTs

  1. Unzip the download first. Double-click the .zip on a Mac; on Windows right-click it and choose Extract All. Apps cannot read LUTs from inside a zip.

  2. In CapCut desktop, open the Adjustment tab in the top-left panel and select LUT.

  3. Click Import, browse to the unzipped folder, select the .cube files and click Import.

Apply a look

  1. To grade the whole video, hover over a LUT thumbnail and click + to add it to the timeline as an adjustment layer, then stretch it over your clips.

  2. To grade one clip only, select the clip and double-click the LUT thumbnail.

  3. Set the strength with the Intensity slider in the LUT settings on the right.

Troubleshooting

I cannot find LUT import in CapCut on my phone.

Custom LUT import is a desktop feature. On a phone or iPad, use LumaFusion, or grade on your computer.
